One of the worst tutorials yet.

Your definition of a "pro-stickman" is so strange. I thought it looked terrible. The animation was really choppy and inconsistant. I didn't even bother with the other tutorials after witnessing that one. If you don't know how to use Flash yourself, stop trying to teach others.

wolfinator-x responds:

I've read in another newb tutorial that that's the way to do cool stickmen. In any case, why did you even look at this tutorial if you do already alot of Flash? BTW, I do know how to use Flash.

Damn

Why are there 2 bass drums on each side of the kit and a snare where the bass drums SHOULD be?

justgeor responds:

i don't play drums so i didn't know what sounds to put where.

I don't see how this only took you a half an hour

But, then again, I am not a professional Action Scripter so I would not know.

justgeor responds:

it was easy... all it is is buttons, and on the drawing part, i took a tutorial from sitepoint.com

Alright

I think you should have put less of the actual song and more of the playing backwardsness. There was too much for each clip, only add the part necissary. It wasn't too appealing to the eye either. Black background with lot's of randomly sized white dot's isn't too attractive. Maybe making 2 clips for each song, one forwards and the other backwards would help. Also, add some more visuals. Good luck with upcoming projects. :)

Hey Wadezilla, I've seen you around the BBS a few times. Anyway, I'm not that great with reversing clips and such so it may take time before I try to do that. And for the background, I know it's pretty poor looking. (I was going to make each have their own sections with pictures, the song, the lyrics forward and backward.) But I was too anxious to get it in. But I will put effort into that section for next time. And I hope I have good luck too. Thanks!

A bit too slow paced for me :/

Some of the graphics are a bit sketchy, with the lines and all. For future episodes I suggest eliminating the lines and finding some alternate border for everything. The characters were decent though, but the seats and table in the cafe scene looked a bit rushed. I like the whole "chose your own path" concept though. It really works well for movies like this. Overall the animation was well done, the mouths and stuff like that. Keep it up. :)

Violet-AIM responds:

Thanks for the review and constructive criticism Wadezilla. I have tried different things with my art style, including as you say the "no lines" way (see "The Stillbournes" and "Psych Out tribute"), though no matter what, I do get criticisms about art. I try the best I can, gradually getting better with each flash I make. Perhaps, you might like the artwork I did in "Lepo 6: Winter Snow" or "Lepo 7: Island Adventure", which are my more recent animations. If not, it's okay, I still continue to try to improve my art. I think for Ghost Motel 9, there will be lots of improvement in the artwork. Anyways, thanks for being honest, in a constructive way. :)

Even though the game was stupid, all 10's <3

I don't see how this took you a couple nights. :/
I made my only Daily Feature winning drumset in one night. 2 hours or something.

STi-Striker responds:

Like I said, I am new to actionscripting, i only started it a couple days ago, I have no Idea what the hell im doing.

OMFG

Best.Game.EVER!!!!

I must've exploded 200 times by now. >:(

Good game

Graphics are good, but they could use a tiny bit of touching up on. The ground seemed a little plain, maybe add some more texture. :) You also might want to add a little more to the Ki1o's, different colors, different text. Draw them using the line tool so you can add angles to make it look more exciting. A bit of shading would look nice too, and a bit more for the background. Add faded hills, like you see in Mario. It was a fun game, I got like 50000 or something :p. Also, maybe once you get a certain score or get to a point, make it finish off the first level and take the person to a different setting. Use that for your Charlie version. :p Just kidding about the Charlie thing, if you don't know the full alphabet, don't worry about it. Just keep making flash. :-D

HersheyClockolet responds:

Wow! Thanks for the very informative review :D I actually plan to work on all of those things in the final release lol. I'm focusing mainly on actionscript. Basically, I took Clock_Kong from a pre-made library of expressions, and motions, made that Ki1o guy in 4 seconds, and made the fireball in about 5 minutes lol. I added gradient to the BG, but it's barely noticable. I plan to change the entire scenery in the final. Also, touch up the Ki1o, and add different types, sizes, make bosses, etc. I was also thinking of adding the guy from about 4(?) reviews back "Xiao_Fan1" as a boss, and have you kill him really brutally :) lol thanks again!

Eh

Could have been a lot better. I am still giving you a 10 for trying. Its just a scrolling block of duck heads. You have to put some challenge into it. Have them fly around. Really basic. Good try though, I am sure you will make a kick ass game sometime soon. Keep it up :-).

p-v-m2001 responds:

Well thanks. I'm kinda basic at the moment but atleast I am trying. You really didn't have to give me a 10. You could have just gave me a 5 like everyone else. But I guess thats ok. I will try to upgrade it and make them fly around soon but for the moment you just have to accept it the way it is. I have to admit this review is really alot nicer than it had to be. Theres unfair reviews & fair reviews but I think that this is an unfair one because it went too easy on me. But, oh well, nice reviewing is good sometimes. ;)

Hmmmmmmmm

Needs some usless information. Try asking stuff about the little phrases that you can find on the bottom of a snapple cap :p.

SiIence responds:

That's a good idea, lol. Take the things from a sanpple can, or get some riddles or something from one of those puzzle books. =\

Thanks for the funny review. =]
